Developing people who perform, recover, lead, and contribute.
EPI Centre Danbury helps athletes, former athletes, families, coaches, and operators build the rhythm, readiness, ownership, and recovery needed to carry performance into sport, school, work, leadership, and life.
More than training. An integrative athlete development system built with the whole person in mind.
Performance is the vehicle.
Growth is the process.
Contribution is the aim.
One athlete · One shared outcome
Different roles. A common goal.
Athletes are best supported when the people around them can see the whole person, speak a shared language, and work toward the same outcome: purposeful growth, sustainable performance, meaningful recovery, and contribution when it matters.
Athletes
Develop the physical, mental, and emotional capacity to meet demand and contribute when it matters—from youth sport through the professional level.
Parents
Gain clearer language for supporting development, recovery, confidence, and ownership without simply adding more pressure.
Coaches
Use practical observation, communication, and readiness tools that help training translate while the athlete learns to own the process.
Club owners
Add a whole-person development and recovery layer that strengthens how athletes and families are supported across the season.
Athletic directors
Strengthen shared standards and connect performance, recovery, leadership, and athlete well-being across programs.
Schools + organizations
Bring workshops, development systems, and aligned partnerships into a culture built around purposeful growth and contribution.
The regional standard we intend to earn
Trust is earned before it is claimed.
Our aim is to become the region’s most reputable, trusted, and recognized provider of elite-level personal growth, athletic performance, and recovery systems. We earn that position through qualified professionals, honest scope, useful education, integrated delivery, and consistent care for the person behind the performance.
A guided place to begin
Let the right next step become clearer.
Answer five short questions about who you are, what is showing up, and the kind of support that feels appropriate. We will use your answers to suggest a path and prepare a more useful conversation.
More activity. More pressure. More responsibility. More demand—without enough rhythm, recovery, reflection, ownership, or transferable growth.
For youth athletes
Practices, games, travel, training, exposure, school pressure, and expectations can pile up without a clear development system.
For former athletes & operators
Work, leadership, family responsibility, stress, and performance pressure can replace the structure, team rhythm, recovery, and purpose sport once provided.
We ask what needs to be developed, restored, clarified, trained, recovered, and owned so this person can contribute when it matters.
01
Performance with recovery
Recovery is not what happens after performance. Recovery is part of performance.
02
Development with ownership
The goal is not dependence on a coach. It is understanding what is needed and taking responsibility for the response.
03
Training that translates
The work carries beyond the controlled session into sport, school, work, leadership, relationships, and life.
Why EPI Centre Danbury
Skilled eyes. Useful feedback. Better transfer.
You should feel seen before you are asked to perform. EPI combines skilled observation, accumulated experience, and a shared cueing language to help each person understand what is happening, why it matters, and what to work on next.
01
Qualified professionals
Licensed and certified professionals use individualized observation, integrative screening, and extensive coaching experience while working within the clearly defined scope of their profession.
02
25+ years of experience
More than 25 years in training environments inform how EPI observes, progresses, communicates, and responds to the person in front of us.
03
Integrated athlete development
Movement, performance, recovery, Mental IQ, Athlete EQ, and ownership are developed as parts of one athlete—not as disconnected services.
04
Feedback that changes movement
Qualified, experienced in-session feedback works inside a proven cueing system to create more efficient movement patterns and stronger translation to sport and life.
Our story + staff
Performance was never the whole story.
Keith Deyo’s path from three-sport collegiate athlete to Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer revealed what traditional development often separates: the body that performs, the mind that decides, the emotions that must be regulated, and the person responsible for carrying it all forward.
Keith Deyo, LAT, ATC, CSCSFounder & Director of Sports Medicine, Performance & Recovery
Total Athlete IQ is EPI’s integrated framework for developing how a person understands and decides, feels and regulates, and physically performs and recovers. The domains are distinct, but performance depends on how well they work together.
01
Mental IQ
Directions & Decisions
Understand what is being asked, read the situation, clarify the role, process information, make a decision, and execute under pressure.
02
Athlete EQ
Feelings & Regulation
Recognize what is being felt, regulate the response, communicate, reset after mistakes, recover internally, and stay connected to the next responsibility.
03
Athletic IQ
Performance & Recovery
Develop movement, strength, speed, power, durability, readiness, and recovery so the body can meet demand and adapt over time.
Sport IQ is the contextual application of the three domains inside a particular game: tactical understanding, recognition, timing, communication, and execution. Explore the Total Athlete IQ framework →

Who are you here for?
For education and reflection only—not a medical diagnosis, treatment plan, or guarantee of results. The best next step depends on fit, readiness, goals, schedule, recovery needs, and EPI’s ability to serve the person well.
